Update on Group Project Progress

Our group is made up of John, McCayla and myself. We divided up the work where I'll start with the presentation with the 3 types of letters, then McCayla will continue with the elements of a letter and finally John will conclude the presentation with things to avoid in a letter. We have been working during class time to do our research and create our PowerPoint.

Project 2: How to tie a tie - double windsor style


For project number 2, I will explain how to tie a tie. More specifically a Double Windsor. With the end of the academic year fast approaching, a well tied tie (along with a nice ironed shirt and suit) is an indispensable tool to have in a recent graduate’s “hire me toolbox”.

Chapter 7 Reading


I think that the design of a technical document is as important as the content itself. A reader may disregard the information if it is poorly designed and presented. The audience and purpose of the document also plays an important role in the way a document should be designed. I think that the proximity, alignment, repetition and contrast are the key essentials of the document design. Proximity is the space between elements within the document. Other essentials are the variation between lowercase and uppercase, line spacing and font styles.

Technical document chosen to analyze

I've chosen a Xfinity marketing brochure to analyze. This technical document's audience is prospective customers. The document includes information regarding service options, promotions and steps for signing up. I picked this piece of document because Xfinity is a big successful company and this document was very well put together.
